The neck of an acoustic guitar is divided with metal plates which form the bars. Guitar strings are pressed against these bars to produce different sounds. By pressing in different bard towards the pegs, the sound is low because of the length and as you shorten the strings by dropping towards the box, the pitch becomes higher.
